Podcasts

I am actually quite excited by podcasts and have resolved to get into them when and where I can. The whole world of ABC radio is open to me - I can catch up on books, movies, culture in general - while I run on the treadmill! Not to mention the podcasts of national public radio (NPR) in the US and what next...the BBC? I even read the help files at the ABC about how to download and feel fully equipped to just get on with it!

week 4

how much fun are those generators?
I found out the name of my future husband (how could i resist?). Turns out his name is Edgar Robertson. I found this incredibly amusing. I also found out what my gangsta name is: Butt-jugglin bull dodga.
My favourite is the one where you get to put your own text on the cue cards Bob Dylan holds up in the famous clip for Subterranean Homesick Blues.

Now i must go and check out the blogs of my fellow 23 thingers!

flickr and creative commons

i am glad i have been forced to get a flickr account so i can check it out. i haven't managed to upload a photo however. I have a psychological barrier for some reason with finding the cable to connect my camera with the computer - somehow it seems like hard work and so i put it off. obviously if one has a digital camera, one does need to get over this barrier. Anyway, i don't think i will actually get into using flicker to share my photos. Firstly, its not high on my priority list and also, like jessamy, i feel a little weird about putting photos out there - especially if they are of my kids or other people who may not consent. I imagine there are ways to limit access.
As to creative commons - it rocks!

Well today I got myself set up on google reader. It's great i reckon. I have subscribed to quite a few feeds from sites that i regularly check out like the smh etc. I also decided to expand my horizons, as suggested by the 23 things team, and went out looking for some blogs of interest. This is a work in progress i reckon and have asked my facebook friends to suggest their favourite blogs as a starting point. I tried searching for feminist blogs and librarian blogs and signed up for the shifted librarian but as to feminist blogs - there are zillions. Also, the disturbing knowledge that gwyneth paltrow has a blog keeps bubbling to the surface. I will not subscribe gywneth! I need to work on supressing the gwyneth blog knowledge...quickly.
